The Staff

Dr. Roger Dowis and Roger T. Dowis, O.D., F.C.O.V.D.
Roger T. Dowis, O.D., F.C.O.V.D. is the Director of Dowis Vision Therapy. He is involved in the programming of individual activities for each patient. Dr. Dowis is a fellow and charter member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (C.O.V.D.), and he has been specializing in vision therapy for over 25 years.

Dr. Dowis has also been the National Chairman of the Vision and Juvenile Delinquency, Head Start, and Vision Rehabilitation for Head Trauma Groups, and he was the Director of the Visual Perceptual Department at the Colorado Optometric Center from 1968 to 1974.

Dr. Dowis is co-author of the Manual of Esotropia Therapy, and has written several articles for national publications.


Cami Dowis, MEd, COVT
Cami Dowis, M.Ed., COVT is a certified optometric vision therapist with over 25 years of experience coordinating and implementing vision therapy programs. She is the recipient of the Jewel Young Award for outstanding vision therapist in the United States. Cami is Vision Therapy Lead at Dowis Vision Therapy Center and, in addition, performs community education and outreach. Prior to co-founding Dowis Vision Therapy Center with her husband, Cami was Directory of Vision Therapy at Boulder Vision Center. She has a Master's degree in education and teaching experience working with gifted and talented students, students with learning disabilities, at-risk youth, and juvenile delinquents. She has developed and directed vision therapy programs for a number of organizations including the Colorado Division of Youth Services, ADLEC (a private school for children with learning disabilities), and the Colorado Optometric Center.
